Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TPSmart handles your information when using QR Scanner Free across our Android and iOS applications, including optional sign-in, cloud synchronization, advertising services, and local device features.

QR Scanner Free is available on both Android and iOS. Some features described below — such as Google Sign-In and Google Cloud synchronization — are only available on Android. Sections that apply to a single platform are labeled accordingly. Where no label is shown, the section applies to both platforms.

Camera & Gallery Permissions

QR Scanner Free requires access to your device camera and image gallery to scan, capture, import, and decode QR codes and barcodes. All scanning and image processing are performed locally on your device. We do not upload, stream, or store your camera feed or gallery images on our servers.

Authentication & Account Services Android Only

This feature is available on the Android version of QR Scanner Free only. The iOS version does not offer sign-in or account features, and none of the information described in this section is collected on iOS.

On Android, users are not required to create an account to scan QR codes. Google Sign-In is optional and is only used for cloud synchronization and account-related features.

You may optionally sign in using your Google account through Google Cloud Authentication.

When you sign in, we may receive:

  • Email address
  • Display name
  • Profile photo URL (if available)
  • Google Cloud User ID (UID)

This information is used solely to authenticate your account, associate your cloud data, and enable synchronization features. We do not receive or store your Google account password.

Information We Collect

Depending on your platform and how you use QR Scanner Free, we may collect or process:

  • Google account information (email address, display name, profile photo) Android Only
  • Google Cloud User ID (UID) Android Only
  • Scan history, favorites, and settings when synchronization is enabled Android Only
  • Device identifiers used by advertising providers
  • Application usage and diagnostic information

This information is used to provide authentication, synchronization, application functionality, security, analytics, customer support, and advertising services, as applicable to your platform.

Cloud Synchronization (Google Cloud) Android Only

Cloud synchronization is available on Android only. The iOS version of QR Scanner Free does not offer cloud synchronization, and all data on iOS is kept solely on your device.

On Android, if you sign in and enable synchronization, your scan history, favorites, settings, and supported application data may be securely stored in Google Cloud.

Cloud synchronization allows you to access and restore your data across devices using the same authenticated account.

Data is protected using Google Cloud Security Rules, encryption in transit, and Google's infrastructure security controls.

Local & Cloud Data Storage

Your scan history is stored locally on your device by default, on both Android and iOS.

On Android, when synchronization is enabled, a copy of eligible data may also be stored securely in Google Cloud. This cloud storage option is not available on iOS; all scan history on iOS remains on-device only.

You may delete local history at any time through the application settings.

Advertising & Analytics

To keep the application free, we display advertisements using Google AdMob and mediation partners. These providers may collect information such as Advertising ID, device information, and app interaction metrics.

Such information is processed according to the privacy policies of the respective advertising providers.

Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Account & Data Deletion Android Only

This section applies to Android users who have created an account through Google Sign-In. Since iOS does not offer account or sign-in features, there is no account data to delete on iOS; any local scan history on iOS can be cleared at any time from within the app.

Android users may delete their account directly within the application through the Account Settings screen.

When an account deletion request is completed, account-related information and cloud-synchronized data associated with the user will be permanently removed within a reasonable period unless retention is required by law, security obligations, or fraud prevention purposes.
